The Mothers are one of the most exciting Party bands in the North with some of the most talented musicians around and one of the most charismatic front men in the business! 

Robert Hughes – vocals


There is never a lull in the evening with Robert at the mic!  Our charismatic frontman makes every performance irresistible to watch and will keep everyone entertained throughout your event. As well as leading The Mothers, Robert was also the front man for We Could be Astronauts with whom he's performed at T in the Park and reached the International Final of Surface Festival in 2013. He can now be found as guitarist and backing vocalist with No Scary Bears and has just released his first solo EP.


Rob Wilson - guitar and backing vocals


Rob has been playing gigs for nearly 30 years, including  venues such as Ronnie Scott's in London and Manchester Apollo, as well as two sell out gigs at Fibbers in York with Rick Witter and the Dukes. He is a published songwriter, has sessioned on several albums and EPs over the years and has also released his own material with various projects covering many genres. Recently Rob can be found playing guitar with Cheaky Blinders - a tribute to the popular TV show Peaky Blinders, and has guest appearances with other local bands. Rob is also a bass and guitar teacher in York.


Stuart Fletcher - bass guitar


Stuart has been performing in local York bands since the age of 11 and as bassist with The Seahorses, he scored a UK number one album which spawned three UK top 10 singles and saw the band tour extensively throughout Europe, America and Japan, landing support slots with The Rolling Stones, U2 and Oasis, as well as making TV appearances on Later with Jools Holland, TFI Friday, MTV, Top of the Pops, and main stage appearances at all the major festivals including Glastonbury.


Stuart was also a session bassist for the Happy Mondays and has toured with them, including two nights at Wembley Stadium, Glastonbury’s main stage and played at the Witness festival in Ireland. He’s played two sell-out shows at the Bowery Ballroom, New York with Saint Etienne as a performer on their American tour and later the Smash Hits Poll Winner’s Party with The Calling. Stuart was also the bassist for Rick Witter and the Dukes, We could be Astronauts and Hijak Oscar and still supports Chris Helme and  Dave Kerzner band as well as being the bassist for Van Der Neer whose debut album 'Quicksilver' has just been released. He has also joined Hurricane 1 as bassist to this recently reformed Indie band who will played at Fibbers in May 2019.


Dave Hartley – drums


Dave brings to the band an enthusiastic flair and is a highly talented and experineced drummer. He has drummed with many bands, including Hijak Oscar - who have released two albums and sold over 10,000 copies and headlined at Fibbers - and also played with We Could be Astronauts; performing at T in the Park, numberous 02 Arenas across the country, Cambridge Rock Festival, and the Galtres Festival. Dave is also the drummer with Van Der Neer who recently released their debut album.

The Mothers - Independently, they're brilliant - collectively they're awesome!
